So I have not written in a long time. A little update on me is in order I guess! I have finished my Teacher Internship program training and am happy and sad it is over. I now have more time on my hands and more experience. Things went really well though, the students really like me and so I have been able to keep one of my classes and was offered another one for the month of July!!! SO two paid classes out of it is great.

My back has been acting up a lot in the past few months. I was actually unable to stand up straight for a week and no yoga for almost 3 weeks. It was pretty messed up! I thought I was in the clear but on Wednesday after teaching 2 classes it was tender again. It started with back pain and sciatica flare ups. Crazy as it has been 3 years since the original problems and when I turned to yoga!!! I have to figure it out. My plan to to save a little cash and get a personal trainer to get me a workout regime that targets the areas that I need to work on strengthening to prevent this from happening and to prevent my sciatica from flaring as well!

Working with the Yoga Association of BC has been a lot of work! It is nice to be a part of the big picture, but I am still ironing out the job!! We have our AGM next Saturday the 21st and that is the same day as the Yogathon, it is at the same place. It is 108 minutes of yoga to raise money for children with Aids. I am excited to be a part of it. The city last year declared the Yogathon day to be Yoga day!! SO that was exciting!!

My friend Amanda came back to Vancouver again from Hong Kong this week, very cool to see her again after such a short time. It was 8 months and then 2 time in just over a month!!! SHe has to head back early though as she got a fantastic modeling job to start next weekend!! Very cool!

I too cannot wait to get to Edmonton and see everyone for Natasha's birthday. I am excited to see everyone, but Robyn and Jeremy very muchly as I have not seen them at all since I moved to Vancouver. It has been almost a year and a half!!

So we are planning a friends get together on Thursday July 26th at 8:00 pm at Pub 1905 on Jasper ave!! I hope you can come. Let me know if you will make it. I will also send an invite via Facebook for those that are on there!

Well I may be off to Squamish this weekend, I will keep you posted.

Better get back to work

Love you all!
Love, kisses and misses

So I am sure I have pissed enough friends and family off in the past 2.5 months with lack of correspondance and phone calls. I have been rediculiously busy. I am working 3 jobs and going to school once a week, teaching 6 classes a week and taking 3-4 classes. I am almost done my training and doing very well, I am so proud of myself. I had a paid class offered at the studio for the month of June because of the excellent feedback on my classes and was just offered to keep my 7 am Tuesday class paid for the summer to be reassed in the fall! This is great as she does not ask everyone to stay on. In turn I am waiting patiently to finish here at Halfmoon, I am going to die with exhaustion (but still love the teaching and doing well in this state) I am a silly little girl. Also, need to get a landline so that my one minute long distance calls do not cost so much and then I can call more. Christopher I wanted to call you on your b-day but worked from 8-8 and I hope I text was enough to show my love for now.
Other news. I went to Harry Connick Jr. last Sunday with Johnny and Erika, AMAZING show. So inspiring, I want to play piano again. He completed my dream of seeing a Dean Martin/Frank Sinatra style show. I cried, I am a loser. I stated Saturday night that if Harry ever came to town I would go, and love and behold the next morning Erika asked if I wanted to go to see Harry Connick Jr that night....so strange how the universe works....the best $80 ever! SEE HIM!!!!
Scotty was just here for work, nice to hang with him and coworker for a couple of nights...I love hime....he and Trena are coming in 2 weeks for a vacation and we are heading to Seattle, Johnny and my first "vacation" together......
Love and misses to all of you....

So I just had a crazy surprise visit from my friend Amanda. She was my closest friend here in Vancouver, and without her I do not think I would have made it through yoga school. We took yoga school together and she was the one person that I went out with. We have planned to open a yoga studio here when she returns to canada in the next 2 years. She was living in Hong Kong and came back here to Vancouver last year to get her yoga teacher training and seperate from her husband. It was so hard when whe moved back to Hong Kong in August. We had such an emotional journey together, the training was such an awakening to who we are!!! We have continued with contact and she bought me my computer camera so we can have video conversations.....blah blah blah...I have not chatted with anyone really in months because I am so busy, but we jsut chatted a few weeks ago and found out she has been having some sad times in Hong Kong, feeling a bit homesick for Canada. She planned to come in the fall. Her boyfriend Sven is a pilot in Hong Kong (Sven and Amanda are Johnny and my couple buddies, we have sushi together)
Anyways.....she just showed up in the store here. As I am feeling so exhausted and do not want to work anymore she shows up and scares the shit out of me...I am such a big loser I started to cry and make her cry...here there are customers starting at us hugging and crying in the store....she is here till the end of the month!!! So exciting!!
Ok, I am a geek!!!
I love and miss you guys all a lot too!!! If you showed up here I would cry too!!!

So as all the folks on here know, my bestest friends, that I too have the addiction to Facebook. I am crazed and get so sad when there are no new friend requests, comments or messages....AHHHHHH
I have also been so busy here, these past 5 weeks have been rediculous. (Melissa I will call when I breathe I swear!!) I have been working my two jobs and as of yearerday to add 2 more to the plate. Plus teaching and apprenticeship!
I love it though, I feel at ease and ready for the new and unknown. I truely believe I am on the verge of some great opportunities, this new Teacher REgisty Program Manager position with teh Yoga Association of BC is a step in that direction. It is only $100 a month, but to be increased soon!!! I had an interview with them a few months ago and was narrowed to the final 4 candidates. I did not get the position, but the guy that interviewed my has continued contact with me and insured that all 4 of use would have positions within the newxt 12 months. Low and behold, I got a call from him Saturday and he offered me HIS position as he is stepping down!!! very cool!!
The other new job is a reception/assistant position with physio assessments!! So in the best Wheel of Fortune themed voice I can "Come on big money"

So I finally bought a bike. It has been a long, slow and painful process that you folks will definitely appreciate and understand as you know me better than anyone (Robyn, Christopher, Natasha and Melissa). I was looking for the right bike, I decieded that the cruiser style was a better fit for me as I am really nervous about biking alone and I find it less intimidating and more of a pleasure rider as opposed to a commuter. So after finding one I liked with hand brakes and gears (so many hills here in vancouver) I bit the bullet on Wednesday! AHHHHHHHHH and it sat in our apartment until till this morning when I took it to work!!! So liberating, I even rode on the road some of the way. I am lucky though as for half the way there is a bike lane. So yeah me!
I also bought a wok last week. I wanted a cast iron one like my mom's so that I could cook stir fries and not stress about the teflon. Found a great one in China town, loved it.
Yesterday I went to a yoga voice class. Now don't laugh, but I have wanted to take voice lessons since I lost my voice in the fall. I use my voice to teach in ways I never have before and I want to preserve it with proper exercises. The class came at a great time, it was 2 hours and I got to hang with my buddy Melissa. It was a great day for us. I feel really inspired by her, she is great!
Anyhow, must built up courage to bike home soon!
Peace out!

So I was just in the Granville Island Market to get a tea to get me through the afternoon. It is CRAZY in there being Good Friday and holiday, and I had a HUGH line to wait in for my yummy Chocolate Mint Rooibos, mmmmmmmm. When low and behold there is a familiar face in front of me, Kristen Kurek (from Superman the tv show and Partition the movie that I really want to see. Oh yeah, you may also remember her from Euro trip, the one that was with Matt Damon in the beginning, the whole "Scotty Doesn't know" scene....Natasha you remember that one, we laughed our asses off hehehe). Damn she looks exactly the same and little makeup and absolutely beautiful!!!
That's all folks

Joelle, look what you've done to me. You've sparked my newest addiction to Facebook. Hearing you talk about it made me finally check it out, I have gotten a few requests to join the Facebook, and you helped to make me finally cave!!!! Holy shit it's like a whole new world out there! I thought that myspace was cool, but this is amazing, so much easier and connecting with long lost coworkers, classmates and friends is so cool!!! Thanks JOELLE YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!

Johnny and I celebrated our one year anniversary of living together with lovely Indian food and then we headed home to get a mic stand and microphone for Alicia, she is practicing for her comedy competition this weekend (so exciting). But when we got home the fire alarm went off and we had to take the kitties with us on our trek to Strathcona. We picked up Alicia and decieded to go for Gelato, mmmmmmmm. But it was tricky to get us all out and I held the cats and rushed out. Not realizing that the keys staed in until after we tried to get back to the car. Man I an so dumb sometimes. Agedore was freaking out that we could not get in, Luna was so calm and funny. It cost us some looks, our pride (as we loitered in the Gelato shop, and $50 to get in the car back. AHHHHHHHHH

On a lighter note(or perhaps darker note however you look at it), I saw my first mosquito yesterday. It was as if I had never seen one before, I was ducking and flailing my arms trying to figure out what was getting so into my personal space. Little devil!! I thought that Vancouver was pretty safe from those devils...maybe it was an April Fools joke or something from the Gods...

So, I forgot to write on here, as I have been crazy busy with family and friends visiting and programs starting, that one year ago yesterday I left Edmonton to be with my sweet Johnny here in Vancouver. Holy crap I cannot believe that it was a year ago. Tomorrow is my one year anniversary for starting my yoga teacher training!!! Wow how time flies. Also, other than the video call, it has been over one year since I saw Robyn :(

This will be our second comedy outing this week and I LOVE IT!!! It is so fun to lauggh with my Johnny and friends, I am really excited!!! Alicia is a comedian and she is waiting to get on at Yuk Yuks, we can't wait to see her on stage!!

Poor Robyn with her knees all banged up, currently you are winning the clutz race...I am just so glad that you are ok!!! Miss you tonnes!
